This describes what Emperor actually collects and how it's actually used — it isn't filler, but it also hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Bracketed fields mark facts that need a real business decision before this is final.

1. Information We Collect

Account information — your email address and authentication details, handled by our identity provider, Clerk. Content — reference photos you upload, the prompts you write, and the images or video you generate. Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Usage data — things like your credit balance, generation history, and basic request metadata (IP address, timestamps) used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use It

To operate the Service — generating your images and video, running content moderation, managing your subscription and credit balance, and keeping the platform secure and working. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your reference photos or generations to train AI models.

3. Who We Share It With

We work with a small set of providers to run Emperor, and share only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • Stripe — payment processing (we never handle your raw card details)
  • xAI, OpenAI, and fal.ai — the AI providers that actually generate your images and video; your prompts and reference images are sent to them to produce results
  • AWS (Rekognition) — automated moderation of generated content
  • Cloudflare (R2) — private, access-controlled storage for your images and video
  • Vercel and Inngest — hosting and background job processing

We don't sell your data to anyone, and your generated content is never made visible to other users.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep records (for example, payment records for tax purposes).

5. Your Rights

You can access, correct, or delete your account information at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us directly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA — [details to be confirmed for applicable jurisdictions].

6. Children's Privacy

Emperor is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.
